Country LPG Operations & LMD Lead – Sun King
Job Purpose
To oversee end-to-end physical operations for Sun King’s PAYG LPG business—including supplier intake, bulk transport, depot management, cylinder asset lifecycle, shop replenishment, and last-mile delivery—while developing scalable, integrated Last Mile Delivery (LMD) capabilities across product categories.
Roles & Responsibilities

LPG Supply Management: Coordinate sourcing, intake, and bulk transport; monitor refill turnaround times and supply continuity; optimize routing economics and transport costs; and provide operational insights to inform supplier price negotiations.

Inventory Planning & Replenishment: Manage the flow of LPG and related inventory (stoves, cylinders, accessories) across depots and shops, define safety stock policies, minimize stock-outs, and align demand forecasting with sales teams.

Depot Infrastructure Management: Design standardized layouts and capacity benchmarks for depots and shops, ensure safe storage and handling compliance, and optimize workflows and cylinder segregation (full, empty, and quarantined).

Asset Lifecycle Management: Maintain cylinder tracking and visibility, maximize asset productivity, ensure high redeployment rates for repossessed assets, manage recertification pipelines, and reduce shrinkage and idle assets.

Last Mile Delivery & Multi-Category Integration: Optimize rider productivity, routing density, and delivery cost-efficiency; build scalable LMD infrastructure to accommodate LPG, inverters, mobile phones, and solar products; and model cost-per-stop economics.

Operational Safety & Compliance: Enforce compliance with safety regulations, depot storage limits, and rider safety protocols; conduct safety audits; and coordinate incident investigations.

Financial & Performance Ownership: Manage operational budgets and cost-to-serve metrics; monitor KPIs such as LPG availability, transport costs, depot throughput, inventory losses, and delivery costs; and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior management.

Team Development & Capacity Building: Manage and develop logistics and LMD teams, establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), and foster a culture of operational excellence, continuous improvement, and safety.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, Finance, IT, or a related field.
Skills, Experience & Competences

Professional experience in LPG, downstream oil and gas, or FMCG distribution.

Strong knowledge of last-mile distribution networks and experience scaling operations in emerging markets.

Demonstrated project management experience, including successful delivery of process improvement initiatives.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

Strong data interpretation and financial skills, with the ability to translate operational metrics into strategic business decisions.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-border team management capabilities.

Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and governing bodies, such as Energy Regulatory Authorities.
