Job Purpose

To design, implement, and continuously improve global event detection, correlation, and alerting systems across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, driving the transition from reactive IT operations to proactive, automated, and predictive service assurance.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Event Detection, Ingestion & Correlation: Design and maintain event ingestion pipelines from diverse monitoring sources; develop correlation logic and noise reduction rules; and establish enterprise event taxonomies, classification standards, and severity tags.

  • Automation, Orchestration & Remediation: Build automation scripts and workflows to auto-remediate known issues; integrate event management platforms with ITSM tools (such as ServiceNow or SMAX) for automated incident creation; and advance AIOps initiatives using predictive analytics.

  • Standardization, Templates & Documentation: Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, configuration templates, and a comprehensive Monitoring and Event Management Playbook to ensure repeatable and scalable operational practices.

  • Operational Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement: Conduct routine health checks on event systems; analyze event data trends to eliminate redundancies and false positives; and partner with cross-functional teams to optimize thresholds and escalation paths.

  • Governance, Quality Assurance & Innovation: Enforce global event handling standards, align operations with key reliability metrics (uptime, MTTD, MTTR), and evaluate emerging observability tools and hybrid monitoring strategies through proofs-of-concept and roadmap contributions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • ITIL Foundation certification (ITIL Intermediate or ITIL 4 Managing Professional preferred); relevant cloud (Azure/AWS) or monitoring tool certifications are highly desirable.

  • Strong programming and automation capabilities using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.

  • Deep functional understanding of ITOM frameworks, event-driven architectures, APIs, and hybrid (cloud and on-premise) infrastructure environments.

  • Strong analytical thinking, process orientation, and cross-functional collaboration skills focused on driving reliability, transparency, and operational excellence.
